Public Holidays our stores are not open.   The next public holiday is on the 7th of June, 2010 and we will be closed.

TROUBLESHOOTING AFTER THE STORM

We are finding a lot of people are looking for assistance with the problems they are experiencing after the storm.

The most common problems are:

1)  Chemicals have washed away by the rain from the pool overflowing

SUGGESTION:  Top up with a bit of chlorine, then bring in a water sample to ensure the water in the pool is balanced.

2)  Gardens, soil, debris is now in the pool

SUGGESTION:  Shock the pool with 10 litres of chlorine at least.  Run the pump for 8 hours, turn off the system.  Let the debris and sand settle overnight.  The next day you must manually vacuum to waste (turn filter valve to "waste" position) once you have done that bring in a water sample to have it tested for rebalancing your pool.

3)  Pools with solar heating ~ pool water has gone black

SUGGESTION:  Chances are your solar system has been installed for a few years and the rubber matting has been severely damaged by the hail / rain and has found its way into your pool, resulting in "black" water.  If this has happened it is possible that the sand in the filter may also be affected and need replacing.  You can try to get out as much rubber as possible via filtration, however you may need to contact a pool maintenance person to check the pool and equipment, for further advise and or arrange for replacement of rubber matting to get the solar system back up and running and also replacement of sand in the filter if required.
